Mail Scale

This Postal Mailing Scale is a replica of the postal mailing scale which was used for the purpose of sending letters and postal items/packages during the 1955 Asian-African Conference. The scales are maroon, measuring 55 cm high and 30 cm wide with the Berkell brand made by the Berkell Borsumij company, made of ferrous metal.
In order to provide good service to the delegates of the 1955 Asian-African Conference, the Telegraph and Telephone Post Office (PTT) in Bandung opened a small/mini post office in Gedung Merdeka and Gedung Dwi Warna. In addition, all postal needs, telephone services, and receiving telegrams will be sold to various regions in the country as well as abroad during the conference. Procurement of replicas of this postal equipment by way of purchase and has become a collection of the Museum of the Asian-African Conference since 2009.
